In recent news, the fate of the long-standing BBC show, Football Focus, has been cast into uncertainty. Declining viewership figures have raised questions about the future of this football punditry program, prompting reactions from various personalities in the sports industry.

Former anchor Dan Walker engaged in a public spat on social media with the current host, Alex Scott, expressing his doubts about the show's relevance. He suggested that Football Focus might be struggling to maintain its appeal, drawing a sarcastic response from Alex Scott herself. The controversy surrounding the show's future only escalated.

On the popular talkSPORT radio show, host Simon Jordan took a cheeky dig at the show while in the company of Arsenal legend Martin Keown. As the broadcast concluded, host Jim White inquired about Keown's upcoming appearances on Football Focus. In response, Keown proudly mentioned his involvement in the show, to which Simon Jordan subtly remarked under his breath, "Football Focus... with no viewers…" The remark was accompanied by a sly grin, leaving Keown momentarily taken aback.

However, the uncertainty surrounding Football Focus is not the only change happening at the BBC. The Match of the Day spin-off show, MOTDx, which targeted Gen-Z audiences with its unique blend of football, music, and culture content from the Premier League, has been quietly shelved after four years. Hosted by Jermaine Jenas, the show featured football discussions, interviews, music, comedy, and games, but it will no longer be part of the network's programming.

In response, the BBC stated, "We have made some changes to our football output this season, which means we will be producing even more digital content for audiences across BBC Sport platforms. While we are proud of MOTDx and would like to thank everyone involved, it will no longer continue."

These developments mark a significant shift in the BBC's approach to football programming, with Football Focus facing an uncertain future and MOTDx no longer part of the lineup. Stay tuned for more updates on the evolving landscape of sports coverage.
