Daniel Craig revealed a bold new hairstyle on the red carpet at the second annual Albie Awards, marking a departure from his James Bond era. The 55-year-old actor showcased a retro quiff style, elegantly swept to one side, while attending the charitable event in New York City on September 28.

Craig's vintage-inspired hairdo perfectly complemented his attire—a dark blue double-breasted suit paired with wire-frame glasses and a navy bow tie. His wife, Rachel Weisz, also graced the red carpet in a striking black and white floor-length gown adorned with an abstract print.

The couple joined a constellation of stars at the Albie Awards, a ceremony organized by George and Amal Clooney's Clooney Foundation for Justice. The event celebrated the "courageous defenders of justice who are at great risk for what they do" and paid tribute to Justice Albie Sachs, the South African anti-apartheid activist.

Notable personalities like Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford, and Scarlett Johansson were also in attendance, making it a star-studded affair.

This public appearance was a rare one for Craig and Weisz, as they usually keep their personal life out of the spotlight. In an interview with The Guardian earlier this year, Weisz, aged 53, expressed her indifference towards celebrity status and her preference for maintaining a private life.

She stated, "Celebrity – it doesn’t really mean anything to me. And it’s no work at all to keep not showing up at events. It’s not work at all to keep a private life. Life can be demanding, life in a family can be complicated but I don’t even know what ‘celebrity’ means. I don’t think of myself like that."

Craig and Weisz first crossed paths as rising stars in the nineties when they worked together in a production of Les Grandes Horizontales at the National Theatre Studio. Their romantic relationship, however, did not begin until they reunited on the set of the movie Dream House in 2010. They tied the knot the following year and welcomed their daughter, Grace, in 2018. Additionally, Craig has a daughter, Ella, from his previous marriage to actor Fiona Loudon, while Weisz has a son, Henry, with director Darren Aronofsky, her partner of nine years.

Martin Campbell, the director of Casino Royale, recently revealed his initial reservations about casting Craig as James Bond, noting that he didn't fit the traditional handsome Bond archetype. However, Campbell praised Craig as a superb actor and acknowledged his distinct toughness and ruggedness that set him apart from previous Bonds.

Craig, who starred in five Bond films in total, bid farewell to the iconic role in 2021's "No Time To Die."
