Grimes Initiates Legal Action Against Elon Musk Over Parental Rights

In a recent development involving the high-profile former couple, Grimes, known as Claire Boucher, has taken legal action against her ex-partner, Elon Musk, concerning their three children. On September 29th, the artist behind "Genesis" filed a "petition to establish parental relationship" in a California court, as revealed in court records obtained by Page Six.

The primary aim of this petition is to formally establish the legal parents of their children, especially since Grimes and Musk were never married. While the case is public, the specific details of the filings remain sealed. As of now, Elon Musk, the co-founder of Tesla, has not responded to Grimes' petition. Furthermore, Grimes has not yet requested child support or custody rights.

Grimes and Musk's romantic relationship began in 2018 and continued on-and-off until their final separation in September 2021. During their time together, they welcomed their first child, a son named X Æ A-Xii, in May 2020. In December 2021, the couple quietly welcomed a daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl (known as Y), through a surrogate.

Interestingly, it was revealed in September that Grimes and Musk secretly had a third child, a boy they affectionately call Tau, although the exact birth date remains undisclosed.

Grimes' legal action comes shortly after she took to Twitter, pleading with Musk to allow her to see their son. In response to a tweet from journalist Walter Isaacson sharing photos of Musk's twins with Shivon Zilis, Strider, and Azure, Grimes wrote a now-deleted tweet, "Tell Shivon to unblock me and tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer. I have never even been allowed to see a photo of these children until this moment, despite the situation utterly ripping my family apart."

Days later, Grimes clarified her stance on the platform, revealing that she had spoken with Zilis to resolve the feud. She stated, "I spoke with Shivon at length finally, which was long overdue. This wasn't her fault, plz don't be angry at her! We respect each other a lot and we're excited to become friends and have the kids grow up together."

Zilis responded positively, indicating that everything had worked out for the best. Elon Musk, who is a father of 11 and has undergone three divorces, secretly welcomed twins with Shivon Zilis in November 2021, following his split from Grimes. The news of their twins did not surface until eight months later.
