Walmart’s ‘Mean Girls’ Reunion Ad is Iconic, but the Internet is Quick to Notice the One Thing That’s Missing.

In Walmart's latest ad, a nostalgic reunion reminiscent of Mean Girls has taken the internet by storm. The unexpected gathering of the film's beloved characters is a delightful early Christmas treat for fans.

Starring several original Mean Girls cast members such as Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Daniel Franzese, and Rajeev Surendra, the commercial showcases the "Plastics" all grown up and leading their adult lives. Gretchen Wieners, played by Chabert, is now a mother to one of the school's popular girls, while Cady Heron, portrayed by Lohan, has become a school guidance counselor. Karen Smith, portrayed by Seyfried, fulfills her dream of becoming a weather reporter.

However, the absence of Regina George, North Shore's queen bee played by Rachel McAdams, did not go unnoticed by fans. Some took to social media to express their disappointment about McAdams' absence and questioned why she was missing from the reunion.

According to an insider who spoke to Page Six, McAdams was indeed invited but chose to decline the invitation. "Rachel McAdams didn't want to do it," the source revealed, adding that the other three cast members were enthusiastic about reuniting. The absence of McAdams was felt by both the cast and their devoted fans.

In the commercial, the characters discuss Walmart's Black Friday sales, which kick off a little earlier than usual on Wednesday, November 8. Lohan provides voiceover, saying, "On the North Shore, some things never change. On Wednesdays, we still wear pink, but now we shop Walmart Black Friday deals."

Chabert expresses her excitement as she watches her daughter and friends perform a TikTok dance, to which her daughter humorously responds, "Stop trying to fetch, Mama, it won't happen yet."

Lohan adds, "While the girls' world was at peace, the world of deals was just beginning." The ad not only offers great deals but also a heartwarming reunion of beloved characters from the iconic movie.
