Ryan Connor leaves Coronation Street for Glasgow - is this the end of his affair with Daisy?

Ryan Connor (played by Ryan Prescott) has left Coronation Street after a turbulent year of lies, betrayal and heartbreak. The DJ and aspiring musician made a low-key exit on Wednesday, as he packed his bags and hopped into a taxi with his girlfriend Crystal Hyde (Erin Austen).

Ryan's departure came after his affair with Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) was exposed, leading to a violent confrontation with Daisy's fiancé, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). Daniel, who had discovered the truth from a drunken Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), sabotaged Ryan's new job at a local gym by revealing his criminal past to his boss.

Ryan was furious with Daniel and confronted him in the street, resulting in a fist fight that was witnessed by many of the residents. Daisy, who had previously told Ryan that she wanted to stay with Daniel, confessed to her cheating, unaware that Daniel already knew. Crystal, who had returned from a trip to Scotland, was shocked by Ryan's infidelity, but decided to give him another chance.

Crystal, who had been offered a promotion in Glasgow, asked Ryan to move with her and start a new life. Ryan, who felt he had nothing left in Weatherfield, agreed to go with her, despite still having feelings for Daisy. He said goodbye to his aunt Carla Connor (Alison King), who was emotional to see him go, and businesswoman Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), who had hired him as a DJ for the bistro.

Daisy, who had broken off her engagement with Daniel, watched Ryan leave with a sad expression, hinting that she still had feelings for him too. Ryan and Daisy had a complicated history, as they had dated briefly before Daisy moved to the cobbles. They rekindled their romance when Daisy became unhappy with Daniel and Ryan became bored with Crystal.

Ryan and Daisy had several secret rendezvous, including at the bistro and at the Rovers Return. They tried to end their affair several times, but always gave in to temptation. They also had a close friendship, as they bonded over their love of music and their similar personalities.

Ryan's exit marks the end of his 17-year stint on the soap, as he first appeared as a baby in 2006. He was originally played by twins Ben and James Thompson, before being recast with Sol Heras in 2012. Ryan Prescott took over the role in 2018, when Ryan returned to the cobbles after living in Ibiza.

Ryan has been involved in many dramatic storylines over the years, including being switched at birth with Alex Neeson (James Burrows), being involved in a car crash that killed his biological father Dean, being addicted to drugs, being attacked with acid, and being falsely accused of murder.

Ryan's exit leaves the door open for a possible return in the future, as he did not die or go to prison. Fans have expressed their hope that Ryan will come back to Coronation Street and reunite with Daisy, as they enjoyed their chemistry and romance. However, it is not clear if Ryan Prescott will reprise his role or if the character will be recast again.

What do you think of Ryan's exit? Do you want him to come back? Do you ship him with Daisy or Crystal? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
