HENDERSON, Nevada - The highly influential hip-hop artist, Lil Wayne, is set to dazzle fans at Allegiant Stadium during the halftime show of the Las Vegas Raiders' regular season home opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., known professionally as Lil Wayne, has earned his place as a five-time Grammy Award-winner and a multi-platinum rap icon. Throughout his illustrious career, his music has consistently dominated the charts. His most recent album, "Funeral," which dropped in 2020, climbed to the top of the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. In recognition of his global impact, Lil Wayne received the prestigious Global Impact Award at The Recording Academy's Black Music Collective pre-Grammy event earlier this year.

Kicking off the year with a bang, Lil Wayne embarked on his "Welcome to Tha Carter Tour," a 32-city U.S. tour that sold out entirely in less than 10 minutes. His enduring success was further underscored by his recent performance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. Not only did he secure a nomination for Best Hip-Hop Video for "Kant Nobody," but he also had the honor of opening and closing the show's hip-hop tribute segment, leaving an indelible mark on the event. His induction into the Billboard Hip-Hop Hall of Fame solidified his status as an iconic figure in the genre.

Adding to his accolades, Lil Wayne was recently honored with the BMI Icon Award, a prestigious recognition bestowed upon songwriters, composers, or producers who have profoundly influenced the music industry.

Joining the pre-game lineup, singer-songwriter-actress Jordin Sparks will deliver a captivating rendition of the National Anthem. Sparks, a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum artist, gained international fame as the winner of American Idol's sixth season. Her popular singles have collectively sold over 10 million digital tracks in the U.S. Notably, Sparks is also a talented songwriter, co-writing Ariana Grande's hit single, "The Way," which earned her a BMI songwriting award. This fall, she's excited to release new music with her upcoming single, "Call My Name."

Beyond her music career, Sparks has transitioned into network broadcasting, gracing the sets of iconic programs such as NBC's "TODAY Show," ABC's "Good Morning America," ABC's "The View," CBS' "The Talk," and PBS' "Great Performances (with John Lithgow)," among others. She has also made her mark on multiple NFL Super Bowls, including a National Anthem performance at Super Bowl XLII and serving as the in-stadium host at Super Bowl LVII in Arizona.

Adding to the spectacle, as Jordin concludes the National Anthem, two squadrons from the Nellis Air Force Base United States Air Force Weapons School will perform a thrilling flyover outside Allegiant Stadium. These elite aircraft, hailing from the 17th Weapons Squadron operating the versatile F-15E Strike Eagle and the 433rd Weapons Squadron operating the formidable F-22 Raptor, showcase the pinnacle of tactical expertise in controlling and exploiting air, space, and cyber domains.

The Raiders House Band, returning for their third year, is set to entertain the Raider Nation with their dynamic performance. Led by the powerful trumpet of David Perrico and featuring stunning vocalists along with an all-female acoustic string section, this 19-piece orchestra comprises world-class Las Vegas musicians who have shared the stage with superstar entertainers like Celine Dion, Santana, Beyonce, Rod Stewart, Andrea Bocelli, Shania Twain, and Diana Ross.
