During an interview on BBC Sounds' "Sidetracked with Annie Macmanus and Nick Grimshaw," Emily Eavis, the co-organizer of Glastonbury Festivals, shared insights into the festival's plans. She acknowledged that the lineup for 2024 is still taking shape and that the festival decided to hold out for a little longer. Eavis received a call from a significant American artist last week, which she described as "incredible" and emphasized the importance of waiting for the right act.
In response to previous criticism concerning the lack of female headliners, Eavis hinted at the possibility of having two female headliners in 2024 and confirmed that the Sunday legend slot will be occupied by a female artist. This commitment to gender balance in festival lineups aligns with reports that both Glastonbury and Coachella Festival organizers are competing to secure Dua Lipa as their headliner for the upcoming season. Madonna is also a contender to headline the festival in Worthy Farm, Somerset.
Eavis expressed her dedication to achieving gender parity in festival lineups, acknowledging the challenges in finding female headliners. However, she highlighted the efforts to promote female artists by featuring them on smaller stages and nurturing their careers, thereby expanding the pool of potential headliners. Glastonbury Festival 2024 is scheduled to take place from June 26 to 30, with tickets going on sale on Sunday, November 5. Obtaining tickets for the festival can be challenging, with a high demand for limited slots. To streamline the process, organizers encourage households to limit their devices to one per household, reducing congestion and ensuring a smoother experience.
Tickets for Glastonbury 2024 are priced at £355 plus a £5 booking fee, with a £75 deposit required upon purchase. The remaining balance will be due in the first week of April 2024.
