The ensemble of Paper Mill Playhouse's much-anticipated world-premiere rendition of F. Scott Fitzgerald's timeless classic, "The Great Gatsby," offered a sneak peek inside their rehearsal space recently, and BroadwayWorld had the privilege of covering this exclusive event.

Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee, as well as Theatre World Award recipient, Jeremy Jordan (known for his Broadway roles in "Newsies," "Waitress," and "American Son"), takes center stage as the enigmatic Jay Gatsby. Sharing the spotlight is Eva Noblezada, a two-time Tony Award nominee and Theatre World Award winner, celebrated for her performances in Broadway hits like "Hadestown" and "Miss Saigon," portraying the enigmatic Daisy Buchanan.

Supporting this stellar duo is an ensemble of exceptional talent: Sara Chase, known for her appearances on television in "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" and her Broadway debut in "First Date" as Myrtle Wilson; Stanley W. F. Scott Fitzgerald's iconic novel, first published in 1925, continues to captivate readers with its portrayal of the Roaring Twenties. The story revolves around the enigmatic millionaire Jay Gatsby, portrayed by Jeremy Jordan, who relentlessly pursues his lost love, Daisy Buchanan, brought to life by Eva Noblezada. Against a backdrop of complex characters, simmering passions, and unfulfilled desires, their fates intertwine in unexpected ways.

The highly anticipated production is scheduled to run from October 12 to November 12, 2023, at Paper Mill Playhouse, located at 22 Brookside Drive. Mark your calendars for the grand opening night on Sunday, October 22. Tickets are currently available on the Paper Mill Playhouse website.

"The Great Gatsby" boasts a compelling script by Kait Kerrigan ("The Mad Ones"), a score influenced by jazz and pop by Tony Award nominees Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen ("Paradise Square"), and is directed by Marc Bruni ("Beautiful: The Carole King Musical"). The choreography is masterfully handled by Dominique Kelley (known for his work on television shows like "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Masked Singer"). Music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations are expertly crafted by Mr. Howland, with Daniel Edmonds ("Shucked," "Paradise Square") as Music Director.

The production team includes Paul Tate dePoo III, responsible for scenic and projection design (known for his work on Broadway's "The Cottage" and "Spamalot"); Tony Award-winning Linda Cho, in charge of costume design ("A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder," "Harmony," "Chasing Rainbows"); Cory Pattak, illuminating the stage with his lighting design (notable for "Spamalot"); Brian Ronan, a two-time Tony Award winner for sound design ("Beautiful: The Carole King Musical," "The Book of Mormon"); Charles G.
