Vogue Williams recalls how she 'nearly died' in terrifying swimming pool incident

In a recent episode of the popular podcast, "Spencer & Vogue," Vogue Williams, the 37-year-old Howth native, opened up about a chilling childhood experience that nearly cost her life. This revelation took her husband, Spencer, by surprise, as she recounted a dangerous incident from her youth.

Vogue revealed, "The only time I nearly died - it's a really weird story and it actually freaks me out when I think about it because I find it so worrying. I was once in a swimming pool and I was on my own and left to my own devices."

She continued, "I tied myself up with a dressing gown rope and threw myself into the pool to see if I could get out. Nobody else was there."

Spencer's shocked reaction was immediate, exclaiming, "What?!" It was clear that Vogue's childhood escapade was an unexpected revelation for him.

Vogue elaborated on her experience, "I was only like 11 so I wasn't thinking, 'Oh if you don't get out, then you're dead.' I was just seeing if I could untie myself underwater."

Fortunately, Vogue managed to extricate herself from the potentially life-threatening situation, despite having both her hands and feet tied. She shared, "It really freaks me out to think about it, that there was such a high chance of me not being able to untie myself."

Reflecting on the incident, she added, "I think I did it like three or four times. So I feel like that's the closest I came to death, and someone was really looking out for me."

In addition to this childhood memory, last month, Vogue and Spencer graced the stage of Dublin's Olympia Theatre for three nights as part of their 'Spencer and Vogue Live' show. The couple's journey began in 2017 when they both signed up for the Channel 4 series "The Jump," which Spencer ultimately won. Vogue, unfortunately, had to withdraw from the competition due to a training injury. Nevertheless, their connection grew, leading to their marriage the following year, and they now have three children together.
