Walmart's Grand Salute: Heroes & Headliners Concert Honoring Veterans

Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, is honoring the veterans and their families with a star-studded concert featuring some of the biggest names in music. The concert, titled “Heroes & Headliners”, will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheater in Tampa, Florida. The event will be hosted by NFL legend Rob Gronkowski and his girlfriend, model and actress Camille Kostek.

The concert will feature performances by Chris Stapleton, H.E.R., and Imagine Dragons, who are among the most popular and acclaimed artists in the industry. Chris Stapleton is a country singer-songwriter who has won seven Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for his debut album Traveller in 2016. He also won the Country Music Association’s Male Vocalist of the Year Award for the sixth time on Wednesday night. He has a new album, Higher, out on Friday, November 10.

H.E.R. is a R&B singer-songwriter who has won four Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year for “I Can’t Breathe” in 2021. She also performed the national anthem for Game 1 of the World Series and, subsequently, performed with Foo Fighters on Saturday Night Live. Imagine Dragons is a rock band that has sold over 35 million albums and 100 million singles worldwide. They have won three American Music Awards, a Grammy Award, and a Billboard Music Award. They recently released a song inspired by the new video game Starfield, called “Children of the Sky”.

The concert will also highlight the donations of up to $4 million for veteran organizations from Walmart, its customers, and the Walmart Foundation. The beneficiaries include the Fisher House Foundation, the Gary Sinise Foundation, the Military Child Education Coalition, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, and the USO. Walmart has a long history of supporting the military, dating back to its founder Sam Walton, who was a veteran himself. Walmart has hired over 300,000 veterans since 2013 and has committed to hiring 250,000 more by 2025.

The concert is a way of expressing gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifice and service of the military community and their families. John Furner, the president and CEO of Walmart U.S., said in a statement, "Like him [Sam Walton], our American military community and their families have ensured the fabric of our freedom, and we’re forever grateful for their sacrifice and service.”

The concert is sold out, but you can still watch it live for free on various platforms. You can stream the concert live on Walmart.com/Live, Facebook, X (Twitter) and YouTube, starting at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. ET. You can also catch the highlights and behind-the-scenes footage on Walmart’s social media channels. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy some amazing music and support a noble cause.
